“…but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
This painting serves to continue the story of the previous two. Now the tree, symbolizing a person, is old. Some branches are low, weathered and humbled by the storms of life. Some have been broken off, pruned by the vine dresser. And some are raised high, still giving praise to his Maker. The tree is still planted by the deep wells of water. As the scripture above says, '...welling up to eternal life...' this artwork serves as a bridge to the thought of eternal life at the end of ones' life.
